About

Hispanic Mentoring

Hispanic Mentoring is led by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and has already made great progress in increasing Latino awareness and participation within our organization. Our goal is the increase the number of Hispanic families served in Miami Dade County. Currently only 46% of our matches are Hispanic.

BBBS of Greater Miami has a Hispanic Advisory Council. The role of the council is to advise the agency on policies and practices related to Hispanic mentoring. The council has the opportunity to contribute in a significant way to Hispanic mentoring: review and make recommendations on outreach plans, marketing materials, volunteer recruitment, and training for staff working with the Latino community.

Myra Camino is the Hispanic Mentoring Coordinator. Please contact her at 305-644-0066 ext 246 if you are interested in helping with our Hispanic Mentoring Initiative. We are always looking to partner with Hispanic agencies in Miami Dade County.

BBBS of Greater Miami is also part of ConnectFamilias, Little Havana Community Partnership. To find out more about the partnership please visit their website: www.connectfamilias.org.
